Syracuse pitcher Lindsey Hendrix was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. Hendrix is the first SU player to win a weekly award this season.

Hendrix guided Syracuse to its first top-15 series win in program history against No. 15 Virginia Tech this past weekend. In Friday’s game, Hendrix shut down the Hokies, throwing a complete game while giving up a lone home run to VT’s Cori McMillan in a 2-1 win. Sunday’s game was no different as Hendrix limited the Hokies to just two runs, both unearned. SU won 6-2 to take the series after dropping Saturday’s contest 7-3 in extra innings.

Over the weekend, Hendrix gave up just nine hits in 14 innings of work, while striking out five batters. Virginia Tech entered the weekend with the third-best scoring offense in the country but was limited to its least runs (10) in an ACC series since March 2023 against North Carolina, where VT scored just seven.

Hendrix has become a top option for the Orange in the circle this season after struggling in her 2023 campaign. She’s posted an 11-3 record and boasts a 2.39 ERA, which ranks eighth in the ACC.
